Actress Saumya Tandon needs no introduction, thanks to her brilliant stint on the show ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’. She played the role of Anita Bhabhi on the show for five long years and won hearts with her acting prowess. While Saumya is a popular face in the industry, not many know that she faced a lot of eve-teasings while growing up in Ujjain. Yes, you read that right! In a recent interview, she made a shocking revelation as she revealed a man stopped his bike and had put sindoor on her forehead.

Speaking with Hauterrfly, Tandon recalled facing eve-teasing during her teenage days and said, “Ek winter ke din, raat mein ghar wapas aa rahi thi toh ek ladke ne bike rok kar mere par sindoor mal diya.” She shared another incident where a boy overtook her when she was coming from school on her cycle. She fell off the cycle and sustained an injury in her skull as it got a crack. The actress reflected back and said no one attended to her and the bike rider left her crying in pain. “Poora mera growing up in Ujjain has been about protecting myself from getting chased on road, cut maarna, things written on the wall, chitthiyaan fekna,” Saumya added. The Jab We Met actress went on to share how she used to get rejected in the auditions for her fair complexion. Saumya revealed that during auditions people used to tell her that she is not an Indian and thus she faced a lot of rejections because of her fair skin tone.

Work-wise, Saumya is best known for her portrayal of Anita Mishra in the television series Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, which she quit in 2020. She also hosted several TV shows like Dance India Dance, Bournvita Quiz Contest, Entertainment Ki Raat, LG Mallika-e-Kitchen for three seasons. Tandon was also seen in the role of Kareena Kapoor's character's sister Roop in Imtiaz Ali's film Jab We Met.
